2024 marked the 8th iteration of the BC Indigenous Resources Opportunities Conference (IROC). Bringing together First Nations, Government, and the Natural Resource Sector to honour accomplishments and foster dialogue, with the goal of ensuring equitable access to economic participation and partnership for Indigenous Peoples.
Established in 2009, the Indigenous Resource Opportunities Conference is renowned for showcasing successful collaborations among Indigenous communities, governments, resource developers, and business leaders. The conference emphasizes the mutual benefits of healthy and prosperous Indigenous communities. IROC provides an impactful platform for showcasing different perspectives and advocating for inclusivity, economic empowerment, and the overall welfare of Indigenous Peoples.
2024 IROC highlights included:
Record-breaking attendance of over 420 delegates, representing more than 270 organizations, over 25 First Nations, and 26 tradeshow exhibitors.
The FurCanada silent auction raised $6850 in support of the Native Women’s Association of Canada and FurCanada’s student programs.
